Redirected to Odaiba from Disney

On Saturday(12th Dec 09) Morning we planned to goto Tokyo Disneyland. We Headed to Maihama from Tokyo on Keikyu line. It was a sunny day,the reason we chose to go there. We reached Disneyland around 11am. Only after we reached the information desk we got to know the tickets are sold out for today and they are not issuing anymore until 5pm in the evening. We decided to buy tickets for the next day,Sunday. Ticket for adults cost 5800 yen. Aru said we can goto Odaiba. From Tokyo we headed to Shimbashi on Keiyo line and then took Yurikamome.

Yurikamome is an Automated guide-way transit. Meaning it is driverless train which runs on Rubber wheels on a guided path. We got down 2 stops before destination odiaba. Guess why? Aravind wanted me to enjoy the scenic beauty around, when walking from rainbow bridge and then reach odaiba. Its a beauty to see water with boats and pieces of land here and there in water, multi stored buildings and attractions like Tokyo tower.

Why is it called rainbow bridge?

The towers supporting the bridge are white in color, designed to harmonize with the skyline of central Tokyo seen from Odaiba. There are lamps placed on the wires supporting the bridge, which are illuminated into three different colors, red, white and green every night using solar energy obtained during the day. Hence its called rainbow bridge(RB). Bridge is 798 meters long,This route is called ‘Shuto Expressway No. 11 Odaiba Route Tokyo port connector bridge’.

We walked so long to reach Odaiba, It was worth a walk having enjoyed the view around. We reached the sea shore. We were tired and needed a place to sit. There is a small green place next to the shore, we sat down under a small tree facing the sea. After relaxing we had to walk past the shore to find some lunch.

There a shopping complex called aqua city. We found the delightful Subway and enjoyed our lunch.

After lunch, we walked down to Fuji TV building. There is an observatory on 26th floor to have a 270 degree view of odiaba and surrounding places.

Odaiba is an artificial Island,One reason you must goto see this place.
